The Great Backyard Bird Count Workshop

Hosted in partnership with The Great Salt Lake Audubon Society this workshop will walk you through what The Great Backyard Bird Count is and how you can help scientists around the world by participating.

Get hands-on assistance practicing identifying birds in our garden
Taught by Jeanne Le Ber, a passionate bird watcher since 1980, Jeanne has studied and birded with Terry Tempest Williams, Ella Sorenson, Cooper Farr, and MArk Stackhouse. Jeanne regularly participates in local bird counts including the Salt Lake City Christmas Bird Count, The Jordan River Bird Count, and the Brighton Bird Count. She also instructs continuing education classes at The University of Utah.

Tired of fighting to keep grass alive in your park strip? Lawns in these narrow spaces waste water and rarely thrive. In this class you'll learn how to "flip your strip" by replacing thirsty grass with beautiful, waterwise plants, efficient irrigation, and mulch.

This 2-hour long class will show you exactly how to apply the Localscapes method so that you can enjoy all the benefits: lower water use, easier maintenance, and a yard that truly works for Utah. We'll dive into smart landscape layout, irrigation basics, and waterwise tips. By the end you'll have the knowledge and confidence to create a beautiful, functional yard that saves water and looks great year-round.

Hardwood Propagation Hands On Workshop with TreeUtah

This workshop will help you learn the secrets of starting new plants from hardwood cuttings. Come prepared to get your hands dirty and experience hardwood propagation from beginning to end.

When to plant outside

Revive the River: Hands On Creek Care & Planting by Seven Canyons Trust
